Having used GaugeTM to produce a rank ordered list of jobs in the organization the next stage is typically to use this information to develop a pay and grading structure.
Grade Designer is an add-on module available for GaugeTM that will support the process of turning ‘points to pay’. Designed to provides a simple and interactive tool to help make decisions on grading structures it will:
- Support the import of person data from your HRIS
- Provide a scattergraph showing Gauge points on one axis and current salary on the other
- If required, automatically calculate and overlay on the scattergraph a line of best fit (not shown below)
- Give the option to split this line of best fit to suit your data. You may have several lines of best fit within the same scattergraph
- Allow the creation and storage of multiple grading structures
- Automatically calculate total costs for your grading process.
Non- monetary benefits (cars, telephones etc), and other costs such as 401K contributions and Social Security cannot be modeled within Grade Designer, nor does it provide the ability to model pay and cost progression over time.
The heart of Grade Designer is the scattergraph. Through the graph, a number of possible grading structures can be developed, with the most promising being taken forward for a fuller analysis. This feature is particularly useful when designing broad banding systems.
